Garnet Health Medical Center offers American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking Workshop

MIDDLETOWN - Garnet Health Medical Center’s Community Health and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs, in conjunction with the American Lung Association, will host a 7-week, 8-session virtual Freedom from Smoking Workshop from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday’s beginning, January 25 with one additional session on Thursday, February 17.

The American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking Workshop is a smoking cessation program designed to help participants overcome tobacco addiction so they can enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Facilitated by Garnet Health Medical Center’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Manager, Elyse Carroll, BSRC, RRT, CTTS, these ongoing support and counseling sessions are vital for participants’ success in maintaining freedom from smoking.

By participating in this workshop, attendees will learn which medications can assist with smoking cessation, and how to make preparations to quit smoking, how to manage stress and avoid weight gain.

The cost to participate in this course is $25. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, visit www.garnethealth.org/events.
