COCHECTON – After treatment for an illness, Town of Cochecton Supervisor Gary Maas returned home after six months.
At the town board meeting on Wednesday night, Maas thanked Deputy Supervisor Ed Grund, the town board, the town clerk and all the departments for filling in during his time away.
“Everybody did their job,” Maas said. “I never heard of a problem, everything went well.”
He said he was glad to be back and said he “never wants to leave Cochecton again.”
He said he is getting better every day but tires out quickly. “I’ve got to build up my endurance,” he said.
Election 2026
Supervisor Maas is not seeking re-election this November. Current Deputy Supervisor Ed Grund will be running for the spot on the Republican line, along with Leanna Ballester on the Democrat and Independent line and Scott Goodman on the “Cochecton United” line.
