WHITE SULPHER SPRINGS — Charlie’s Angels, one of the Sullivan County Women’s Softball League premier teams, celebrated ‘Smoking Jo’ Walls on Tuesday evening.

Walls recently turned 72 and is in her 50th year playing in local women’s softball leagues.

To honor Walls, the team collected dirt from 15 different softball fields that they have played on over the years along with a sign to go with the jar and a cake to celebrate her birthday and softball milestone.

The Sullivan County Women’s Softball League, in which Walls and the Charlie’s Angels participate in, is also turning 50 this year.

“This milestone is a testament to the dedication and passion of all the players, past and present, who have made this league a true powerhouse of women’s strength and endurance,” the league said in a social media post. “Here’s to many more seasons of camaraderie, competition and fun!”
