For the past five years the Town of Highland along with thirteen other townships in the River corridorhas participated in the Upper Delaware Council’s Litter Sweep Program to remove Litter and trash along roadways and the River banks to help keep the environment and the Delaware River clean. Last Saturday about sixty volunteers in Highland came out to join up as part of seven teams that spent several hours picking up litter and garbage. In all they filled over over three hundred commercial trash bags and beautified the community.
“The Litter Sweep Program really highlights how wonderful things can happen when we all come together and roll up our sleeves and get things done for our community,” said Town of Highland Supervisor John Pizzolato. “It was a great day with a very positive outcome and I couldn’t be more proud of everyone’s efforts.”
