Fallsburg – Last Saturday night, Hope Alive 845, a non-profit organization dedicated to locating missing people and providing education about the missing, held its annual awards show, celebrating community champions for their commitment to making a difference. The event was held in honor of Shanice Harris, who has been missing for eight years, and whose disappearance inspired the founding of Hope Alive 845.

The event was held at the Rivoli theater and featured heartfelt tributes and recognition for key individuals and organizations who have demonstrated an unwavering dedication to helping find the missing and educating the public. This year’s honorees included:

• Blaise Gomez, the renowned local newscaster, for her continuous efforts in raising awareness of missing persons cases throughout the region.

• The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, for their crucial role in law enforcement and their tireless work in investigating missing persons cases.

• The Town of Fallsburg, for their ongoing support and contributions to community safety and partnership with Hope Alive 845 in their efforts to bring missing persons home.

The event was headlined by the local band, Remy and the Strange, whose lively performance electrified the crowd. Hosted by Julianna Ramos, daughter of Hope Alive 845 founder Domingo Ramos, the awards show brought together community members, law enforcement, advocates, and families affected by missing persons cases. Julianna’s heartfelt connection to the mission of Hope Alive 845 resonated deeply with attendees, adding a personal and emotional touch to the evening.

“Hope Alive 845 was born out of tragedy, but it thrives because of the strength of our community,” said Domingo Ramos. “The people and organizations we honored tonight are the heart of that community. They remind us that we can make a difference, and that no one should ever be forgotten.”

Proceeds from the event will go towards continuing the mission of Hope Alive 845, helping families of the missing, and educating the public on the resources available to them. For more information, visit hopealive845.com
