Icy weather causes power problems on Saturday

Saturday morning’s soaking rain and ice storm caused problems throughout Sullivan County, as trees came down over power lines, knocking out service. In Callicoon, above, two trees fell down over Mountain Top Lane, tearinig down lines and breaking two utility poles in half at 10 a.m. Saturday. Power was restored by 6 p.m. Saturday, and Spectrum restored its service by 3 p.m. on Sunday. Across Sullivan County, NYSEG reported that 6,288 customers in its Liberty Division were affected by the outages over the weekend, with everyone restored by end of the day on Sunday. No major flooding was reported as nearly two inches of rain also fell.
