Family – one of the few functions of society that make things not only bearable in tough times, but also over-jubilant when the good times roll.
The people we call family are the bread and butter of life not only at home, but for many locally-owned businesses in Sullivan County. Family is the cornerstone of staying on track. In a world full of distractions, options, opinions and challenges, it is all-too-easy to be led off that track. Even non-business owners can tell you that life can be hard theses days for a multitude of reasons.
Our special section today – All in the Family – features four businesses which have been operated by their respective families for generations.
All the businesses have deep roots and strong connections to their communities and their success is closely tied to exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
It is these type of businesses which are located throughout our main streets and back roads, giving Sullivan County not only a diverse economy, but one that is also dependent, for the most part, on shop local.
We are proud to be one of the family businesses located in Sullivan County and know firsthand the challenges of working with family and also how rewarding it can be.
We also are excited to see many brand new family businesses starting across Sullivan County. Husband-and-wife teams are opening up retail and dining outlets across our main streets while others are catering to second homeowners and year-round residents by offering such things as house cleaning and other services.
We hope you will support these famlies across our county and let them know how important they are to our area. Please take a look inside to read more on Kohler Lumber, the Liberty Diner, Bass Lumber and Service Scaffold as they keep it ‘all in the family!’
