Town of Callicoon 2023 Summer Basketball Camp will be held for one week beginning on Monday, June 26th and ending on Thursday, June 29th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jeffersonville Sullivan West Central School. The Annual Summer Basketball Camp is being hosted by the Town of Callicoon and welcomes both boys and girls ages 8-15. Patrick Donovan, SW Varsity Girls Basketball coach will be the instructor. Town of Callicoon resident fee is $120/camper with  Non-residents of the Town of Callicoon $130/camper. Each camper will receive a basketball and shirt. All campers must bring a lunch and snacks with them each day. Please have all camper’s rides arrive promptly at the end of each camp day. The Turtle Trot 10K and 5K Walk Run Race for the benefit of the Doug Ackermann and Brenna Darling Memorial Fund on Saturday, July 8th  being held at the Kenoza Lake Firehouse is looking for volunteers to work water stations. The Callicoon Center Band presents weekly concerts at the Bandshell in Callicoon Center. Great entertainment every Wednesday evening – beginning July 5th thru August 16th starting at 8 p.m. rain or shine. James Newton is the Director. This project is made possible from funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program. A program of the New York State Council of the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.

Save the Date: St. Francis Church (located at 4020 State Rt 52, Youngsville) is holding their Giant Bazaar on Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with the rain date Sunday, July 16th. Games, prizes, food, door prizes and Music by a DJ. Two fun filled nights of fun for everyone! 

Another Save the Date: The First Presbyterian Church is hosting a Penny Social on Saturday, July 29th at the Jeffersonville Fire Department (located at 4903 State Route 52) with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. and calling begins at 12:30 p.m. Admission is $1 and includes drink and dessert. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Churches Food Pantry.

The JEMS beautification group that plants the gardens along Main Street and the planters too needs your help. Several of our planters have been vandalized, either smashing or pulling out our flowers. Please, if you see this being done contact me. Your help in keeping our town beautiful is greatly appreciated. It’s costly to keep replacing flowers only to have them destroyed. Thank you!
