This past Saturday, “Music at the Backyard Park” when “Jeffersonville Takes the Stage”! The evening began with a Tribute to thank the Village of Jeffersonville and our local businesses and volunteers who donated time and money to complete the stage. At 7p.m. the “Kosak Ukrainian Dancers” performed traditional dancing, music, songs, and virtuoso performances on instruments including the balalaika. The group were invited to perform at many prestigious cultural venues in the U.S., including Carnegie Hall, the Smithsonian Institute, the United Nations in NY and Russian Embassy in Washington D.C. and many others.

Only one more month until the 143rd Grahamsville Little World’s Fair – August 18th to 20th. On Sunday at 1 p.m. the Sullivan County 4-H Livestock and Ag Products Auction will be held. Preview starts at noon with auction bidding at 1 p.m. Many of the club members will have items for sale from their 4-H project work. Please join them, appreciate their hard work and bid. All proceeds raised are split between the youth and the 4-H Auction Scholarship Fund. Please support our local 4-H clubs. 

Save the Date: Sunday, August 6th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. an EMS Appreciation BBQ awards Ceremony is being held at the Lake Superior Park (located at 342 Dr Duggan Rd, Bethel, NY) and is open to ALL Sullivan County EMS Agencies and their families are invited. Awards begin at 1 p.m. They are looking for agencies to put together teams for crew competitions with teams of 4-6 members and must have at least one EMT on the team. You may have more than one team. The Catskill Animal Rescue held a “Huge Yard Sale Extravaganza” this past weekend at 263 Old Mountain Road, Ferndale, NY. There were new and used items, pet items, furniture, art, toys and much more. This amazing group helps so many lost pets and rescues many more. When I was at the Jeff Bank (Main Office in Jeffersonville) I noticed they are accepting monetary donations for CARE too. 

Domesticities & The Cutting Garden (located at 4055 State Route 52, Youngsville) hosted “En Plein Air with Helena Pittman” on July 30th. Helena majored in Painting at Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, New York, and was awarded her Bachelors of Fine Art degree there. She took her Master of Arts at Antioch, in Painting, Writing and Education.
