Now that you have changed your clocks forward, your local Fire Departments want to remind you that it is a good time to replace batteries in your fire/smoke alarms and check the pressure in your fire extinguishers too.

Meet your friends before the Jeffersonville St. Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday,  at St. Georges Church (located at 97 Schoolhouse Road – below the Sullivan West Elementary School) for  a delicious Pancake Breakfast! They are serving from 8 a.m. to Noon. Cost for Adults $8, Children ages 5-12, $5 and Under 5 are free. Then go down to Main Street and enjoy the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade that steps off at 1 p.m.! Lineup is at noon.

Diehl’s Maple Open House (located at 93 Diehl Rd, Callicoon) is inviting you to attend  a free, fun-filled event on Saturday, March 23rd starting at noon and running to 4 p.m. Enjoy pancakes, sausage and fresh  maple syrup! Visit their sap house and see how maple syrup is produced. This is a farm event so be sure to dress appropriately  for outdoor weather. 

Be sure to support Boy Scout Troop 1717 on Sunday, March 24th at the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department (located on Route 52, White Sulphur Springs) by attending their delicious Spaghetti Dinner! They will be serving homemade meatballs, salad, Italian bread, and homemade desserts from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $15 for all dinners whether you take out or dine in. Easter is almost here! Mark your calendars for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th at 1 p.m. sharp at the Youngsville Firehouse! For kids at Preschool age thru 6th Grade. Prizes for the most eggs and special eggs. Refreshments for everyone-bring a bag or basket. 

“All Paws Matter Cat Rescue, Inc.” is hosting a “Sip & Paint  Fundraiser” on Wednesday, April 10th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the White Sulphur Springs Inn (located at 3334 State Route 52, WSS). All supplies will be provided with instruction by local artist Kim M. Simons. 50/50 Raffles! Cost is $50/person. Payment can be sent to: All Paws Matter Cat Rescue, PayPal, Allpawsmattercat Venmo, @allpawsmattercatrescue, Cash app, Stamaradepaolo. FMI: Call 845-292-9865. This is a great organization to support. Donations are always gratefully appreciated.

The JEMS beautification group in Jeffersonville is meeting on Thursday, March 21st at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Presbyterian church. This amazing group of volunteers plants the flower beds and planters in and around Main Street and holds events on the stage in the Backyard park (when warmer weather returns).
