Thank you to the Ancient Order of Hibernians Sullivan Brothers and the Jeffersonville Protection Hose No 1 for another fantastic St. Patrick’s Day Parade last Saturday! A beautiful sunny day with the town packed with lots of people in green. Thank you to  everyone that came out to participate and especially to the children and their leaders that worked on some terrific parade floats too! So many young children involved with the Red Dogs, 4-H, both Boy and Girl Scouts and Sunday School groups! Master of Ceremonies was Pat Welsh with his Co-pilot, wife Jill riding by his side. McPaddens bagpipes were beautiful. JP Graham was once again entertaining up in his booth as the MC! A great fun-filled family day!

The Jeffersonville Fire Department had a booth at the parade handing out information. They are looking for volunteers to join in their 135th year of commitment to their community. Their diverse team needs the varied skills of men and women and youth adults (age 16 and older). Part-time residents of the fire district are also welcome to join. Respond to as many calls as possible given your busy life. Commitment: there are 2 drill nights a month and 2 work nights a month with  department meeting a month. You need to complete training in Basic Exterior Fire Operations and additional training and to work community events as appropriate. It is not all drills and emergencies; they also play and celebrate together to keep their community unified and teamwork effectively strong. FMI: jefffiredept@hotmail.com , follow them on Facebook, or come by the Firehouse for more info Thursday nights at 7 p.m. (located at 4903 NY-52, Jeffersonville, NY). If you do not live in the Jeffersonville Fire District, consider reaching out to your Fire Department to join and volunteer to help within your community.
