Thank you to the JEMS volunteers that worked last Saturday to clean up and plant the gardens along Main Street. It was quite a job! More flowers and fresh mulch are still coming. If you happen to see our “Waterers” busy watering everything including the pretty hanging flower baskets, please thank them for their hard work. If you are interested in joining this great beautification group, please contact me!

New to the Jeffersonville Farmers’ Market this year is “Mountain Ash Farm” a 4th generation family farm producing raw honey, a beautiful colorful variety of farm fresh eggs, jams and jellies and seasonal vegetables. Come try some of their delicious local treats on Sundays at the Jeffersonville Bake Shop. (hosts the Farmers’ Market).

June is dairy month! It’s important that our dairy farmers are recognized for the important role they play producing milk and dairy products. They work hard 24/7 and most rarely take a vacation. I would like to say “thank you” to all of our dairy farmers. From our home on a hill outside of Jeff we can see a beautiful dairy farm below us and several more across the valley. Nothing is prettier than watching the cows meander thru the fields and watch the hustle and bustle of farm life that has been operating for many generations and we hope will go on for many more.

It’s time to believe in magic, again! Barbara’s Bunch Broadway has been busy scheduling the most awarded new play in history and one of the most defining pop culture events, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”! A Matinee Show with Bag Lunch on September 16th (I have enjoyed her delicious bag lunches- and there are several choices). Travel on a luxury motor coach to the Lyric Theatre in New York City with pickup and drop off spots in several towns along the way. Cost for this show is only $180 which includes motor coach transportation, driver’s gratuity, bag lunch and show ticket. Reservations must be made by July 15th – contact Barbara for more information and to make a reservation at 914-799-3362 or barbarahahl@yahoo.com.

Mark your calendars to come out and enjoy “Music at the Backyard Park” (located at 876 Swiss Hill Road North, Jeffersonville) when “Jeffersonville Takes the Stage” on Saturday, July 29th. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. beginning with a Tribute at 6:15 to thank the Village of Jeffersonville and our local businesses and volunteers who donated time and money to complete the stage. At 7 p.m. enjoy the “Kosak Ukrainian Dancers” performing traditional dancing, music, songs, & virtuoso performances on instruments including the balalaika. The group were invited to perform at many prestigious cultural venues in the U.S., including Carnegie Hall, the Smithsonian Institute, the United Nations in NY and Russian Embassy in Washington D.C., and many others.
