I hope everyone survived the recent smoke from the Canadian wildfires. So strange to look outside and see such a haze from the smoke across the valley. Thank goodness we seem to be back to normal again.

A big “thank you” to all the volunteers that placed the graduating Sullivan West Seniors banners in our towns! They look spectacular! Congratulations to our Graduates and may each of them have a wonderful future.

School is almost finished for this year and I am sure everyone, including the teachers, are ready for a great Summer. Please be careful, stopping for a bus letting off the children. Once again I witnessed a car rushing to get past a bus that was attempting to let the children off.

The Western Sullivan Public Library is offering an “Office For The Aging Information Session” at their Jeffersonville Branch on Wednesday, June 21st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A representative from the Sullivan County Office for the Aging will speak about the services they offer. Coffee, tea, and treats will be served. For more information contact: 845-482-4350 or  jef@rcls.org

Saturday June 17th starting at 12p.m. join us for Frank-Father’s Day at the Forthright (located at 4052 NY-52, Youngsville) featuring musical guest Old King Code who will be jamming dad-rock while you, family and friends are amazed by a Magic Show by The Amazing Mr. Mystic and enjoy a Loaded Hot Dog Bar (with a vegetarian option), Cyser, Mead, Beer, & Cocktails (including alcohol free options. Free event with food & drink available for purchase.

Family and pup friendly, bring along a blanket for a picnic on their lawn!

Something I reposted from Facebook that I think is so important. “If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help.” I honestly did not know that but it makes sense.

Save the Date: Saturday, July 8th at 8 p.m., the Turtle Trot 10K and 5K Walk Run Race for the benefit of the Doug Ackermann and Brenna Darling Memorial Fund at the Kenoza Lake Firehouse. There will be ice cream from Rianne Erlwein and chocolate milk from Peck’s Market after the race along with bagels and a variety of fruit.  (proceeds are used for a local family struggling with a life-threatening illness) For registration info: For more information, please contact April (Ackermann) Rutledge at farmerack@yahoo.com or call 845-701-9054.

Try to get to the Jeffersonville Farmers’ Market on “Summer Sundays” (located next to the Jeff Bake Shop, Main Street). Open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.! Lots of good stuff!
