HAWLEY, PA – Journey across continents, traditions, and sonic boundaries this August at Harmony In The Woods with three genre-blending performances. From the lightning-fast mandolin work of Canada’s acoustic music king, to the pulsing, hypnotic rhythms of West Africa, to a sweeping folk-pop collaboration with a regional philharmonic – each evening is a chance to find your sound, discover something new, and connect with community under Harmony’s canopy of trees.

Friday, August 8 at 6pm –  The Andrew Collins Trio

Prepare to be spellbound by the virtuosic sounds of The Andrew Collins Trio, a genre-defying string ensemble blending folk, newgrass, Celtic, and chamber music into one electrifying performance. Led by Canadian mandolin master Andrew Collins – a five-time JUNO nominee and seven-time Canadian Folk Music Award winner – the trio dazzles with jaw-dropping instrumental interplay and infectious energy. Joined by string wizard Adam Shier (guitar, mandolin) and bassist/vocalist James McEleney (bass, mandocello), the group draws comparisons to Béla Fleck and David Grisman. Their latest album, The Rule of Three, captures the kinetic synergy they deliver live. If you love dazzling musicianship and acoustic innovation, this is an evening not to miss. Tickets are $30 for General Admission.

Friday, August 15 at 6pm –  Kaira Ba

Let the ancient rhythms of West Africa move you. Kaira Ba brings a thrilling fusion of traditional Senegalese music, electric grooves, and heart-pounding percussion to the Harmony stage. Led by master kora player and vocalist Diali Cissokho, this North Carolina-based ensemble blends the soaring melodies of the 21-string kora with electric guitar, bass, and a dynamic rhythm section to create a sound that is both rooted and revolutionary.

Nominated for an All Africa Music Award and praised internationally for their cross-cultural vision, Kaira Ba’s music has been hailed for its ability to unite people through movement and spirit. Expect mesmerizing vocals, powerful drumming, and the kind of rhythm that calls your body to dance. As the exotic pulse of Africa meets the mystery of our woods, the result is an unforgettable celebration of joy, storytelling, and the healing power of music. Tickets are $25 for General Admission.

Sunday, August 17 at 5:30 pm – Regina Sayles Summer Strings with the NEPA Philharmonic

In a one-of-a-kind collaboration, singer-songwriter Regina Sayles joins the NEPA Philharmonic String Quartet to deliver an evening of genre-crossing beauty. Sayles’ warm vocals and rhythmic guitar meet the lush harmonies of a live string ensemble, reimagining folk, pop, and rock favorites alongside her own original music. This benefit concert for WVIA is part of the NEPA Philharmonic’s Stoppini Chamber Series and PNC Pops Series, presented in collaboration with Dr. Seth W. & Carolyn Fisher. A pre-show reception featuring wine, hors d’oeuvres, and non-alcoholic beverages begins at 5pm and continues through intermission. Tickets include both the concert and reception and are $75 per person.

Whether you’re drawn to strings, stories, rhythm, or resonance, August at Harmony In The Woods offers a rare chance to expand your musical horizons and experience connection through sound. Come as you are. Leave inspired.
