Liberty Town Board set up for 2025

LIBERTY — The Town of Liberty Board Re-Organizational Meeting for 2025 took place on Monday, January 6. First on the agenda was setting the location for Town Board Meetings, along with Zoning Board and the Planning Board Meetings for 2025 at the Liberty Senior Center at 119 North Main Street, just across the street from Town Hall, as hosts to all Boards for 2025.

Reappointments 

Alternate Planning Board Members, Eugene Thalman and Mordach Heimlich get a 1 year term, while Town Attorney Kenneth Klein was reappointed as Town of Liberty Attorney.  As for the Supervisor’s appointments: Budget Officer Cheryl Gerow, with Kort Wheeler Appointed as Historian for a term expiring December 31, 2027. Long-time Dog Control Officer, Joanne Gerow will remain at post for at least another year. Appointment of Zoning Board Chairman goes to Robert Werlau for a one year term. Lastly, Menachem Steinberg has been re-appointed as a Planning Board member for a term expiring December 31, 2029.

The Sullivan County Democrat was designated as the official newspaper of the town.
