ALBANY – Sullivan County native Judge William Little, Jr. has won the race for a seat on the New York State Supreme Court for the Third Judicial District.
Running on the Democratic and Working Families lines, he garnered 120,759 votes as of yesterday according to unofficial results from the New York State Board of Elections, against Republican opponent Dana Lynn Salazar who received 81,420 votes.
However in Sullivan County, Salazar bested Little with 7,576 votes to 7,252 votes respectively.
The Third Judicial District includes Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties.
Little, who recently spoke at the Jeffersonian brunch in Eldred, was born and raised in Monticello. He now lives in Albany County.
In a statement thanking voters, he said, “I couldn’t have won this without you. From County Fairs to Meet the Candidates nights to going door-to-door, I met so many of you and I’m humbled by your support.”
