ROCHESTER – Dr. Alex Lander, a 2011 graduate of Sullivan West High School, recently earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
He graduated in a formal ceremony held at the historic Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre in May and is set to begin a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Lander graduated from Syracuse University in 2015 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His path from engineering to medicine reflects a commitment to problem-solving and innovation – skills he brings into his new field of radiology.
He is joined in celebration by his proud parents, Rick and Lisa Lander of Narrowsburg (owners of Lander’s River Trips), his wife, Jordan Lander Esq, daughter, Lily, along with his siblings Dr. Heather Lander, Dr. Sarah Lander, and Dr. Richard Lander.
Remarkably, Dr. Lander is the fourth physician in his immediate family, joining three siblings who have also chosen careers in medicine.
Dr. Lander’s achievement reflects years of dedication and the strong support of family and community. His journey from Sullivan County to a medical career in Rochester serves as an inspiration to aspiring students everywhere.
