MAMAKATING — The Town Board finalized its 2025 Reorganization resolutions during Tuesday night’s meeting, confirming appointments, authorizations, and designations for the new year.
“There weren’t too many changes,” said Town Supervisor Robbins, noting that most positions remained consistent with the previous year. “Pretty much everything stayed the same, except the deputies. Peter [Goodman] will take over instead of John [Rufer].” Robbins explained that the change was due to Goodman’s increased daytime availability, as “John’s work has been pretty busy.”
Key appointments for 2025 include Larry Paggi as Town Engineer and Robert Schultz as Accountant. Steven Mogel was reappointed as Zoning Board Attorney, while Jacobowitz and Gubits LLP will continue to serve as Planning Board Attorneys.
The town’s legal team remains unchanged, with Robbins and Goodman designated as official signatories.
The motion to approve the reorganization was made by Councilman Rufer and seconded by Councilman Matt Mordas, with both voting in favor.
The full list of appointments and designations was made available on the town’s website.
Highway Superintendent Morrow tough on winter
Thomas Morrow talked of the Highway Department’s ongoing efforts to combat winter during the meeting, re-affirming the Department’s onging efforts to mitigate winter weather issues.
The department will persist in repairs to equipment and making sure the trucks are ready for the next storms.
“We’ve had four overtime callouts for snow so far this year alone,” explained Morrow. “One of these being where every employee had to come in to help out.”
He also made it a point to note through all of this, the department has also been dealing with a plentiful amount of tree debris.
“[It is] because when it stops snowing it’s windy. Very windy,” noted Morrow.
