Mary Joan Day of Roscoe, NY, a retired professor and a long time area resident, died Friday, July 8, 2022 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 82.
The daughter of the late George and Julia Bauer Phillip, she was born January 7, 1940 in St. Louis, MO.
Mary had been a professor at St. Louis University, The University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University and she had a private practice in New York City for many years. She enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, reading and just being in nature. Mary was a generous woman, with a tough exterior and a very kind heart, The Roscoe Community will miss her.
Survivors include several cousins and her friends including her dear friends, Christina and Debbie; and her cat, Lily.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 10 to 11:15AM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11:30 at Gate of Heaven Church, Highland Ave., Roscoe, NY.
