Matching gift challenge should round out fundraising for Bramley Mountain Fire Tower

SULLIVAN COUNTY — The Friends of Bramley Fire Tower are pleased to announce that William and Katherine Aubrey have just pledged a $5000 matching gift to the fire tower project.

The Friends of Bramley Mountain Fire Tower are working to return the historic fire tower to the summit of Bramley Mountain for the enjoyment of both local and visiting hikers. Construction of the tower is slated to begin in summer 2024.

William and Katherine Aubrey are members of the Catskill 3500 Club, reside in Pennsylvania and spend two months a year in the Catskills. When William was asked why he and Katharine were interested in supporting the fire tower project he responded:

“Katharine and I have watched from a distance the progress made with placing the fire tower in its rightful place. Our reason for issuing the match challenge is

two-fold: first, we are inspired by the hard work and leadership demonstrated by everyone involved in the project: The Friends of Bramley Mountain Fire Tower, The NYC DEP, the Bramley family, the Clark family and the Delaware County Board of Supervisors.  Second, we simply love the Catskill Mountains.  While hiking Bramley Mountain will be a workout for some, its accessibility will allow people of varying ages and hiking abilities to experience and commune with nature. This project is a clear community service, and we are grateful to play a small part.”

The Friends of Bramley Mountain Fire Tower are extremely grateful for this gift from Bill and Katharine Aubrey. Achieving this matching gift will ensure we have the funds needed for construction and for ongoing expenses in the future.

Tax-deductible donations can be made at our website (bramleymountainfiretower.org) or by sending a check to P.O. Box 63 Delhi, NY 13753. All donations made between now and March 31st will be eligible for matching funds.

After many years of planning and work, the Bramley Mountain Fire Tower Project is, finally, very close to fruition.
