Michele Frazier Endorsed by Planned Parenthood Empire State Votes PAC

SULLIVAN COUNTY — Michele Frazier, candidate for New York State Senate District 51, announced today that she has received the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Empire State Votes PAC.

“I almost died during my first labor. My spouse was asked to make the decision, if it came down to it, which one of us the doctor should save,” Frazier said. “It is a horrible and heartbreaking choice that no family should have to make, and it is certainly not a decision that should involve politicians. I’m thankful that both my child and I survived. And I’m thankful that my doctors and family were able to act without fear of prosecution, a tactic commonly employed by anti-choice politicians to intimidate and restrict access to abortion services.”

Frazier is running against Republican Peter Oberacker. Oberacker has consistently voted against legislation that would stand up to extremist policies, protect women’s right to bodily autonomy, and ensure that women and doctors are safe from prosecution.

“Legislatures around the country are passing bills that put women in danger,” Frazier added. “New York is not immune to these attacks on reproductive rights, but we are in a position right now to help those already being denied care elsewhere. Unfortunately, my opponent is out of step with voters, and does not support protecting doctors and women who come to New York seeking life-saving care. I will always stand up for everyone’s right to reproductive healthcare.”

Michele Frazier grew up in her family’s flower and greenhouse business in Oneonta - one of the largest geranium growers in the state. A former Oneonta City Council member, Michele now lives in Delhi where she is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at SUNY Delhi. She lives with her spouse and three sons, two of whom are neurodivergent. Michele is also a Real Estate Agent for a locally owned real estate company. www.michelefrazierfor51.com.
