QUEENSBURY–– At the NYSPHSAA Championships last weekend, Senior Diya Patel placed 68th with a lifetime best time of 20:36 ending her season with a strong finish. Diya’s Coach, Ashley Weintraub shared with the Democrat that “she [Diya] has plans to continue participating in cross-country and track & field in college and has received a few scholarship opportunities.”
Her teammate Freshman, Baya Titus made her debut at states. Baya placed 87th finishing with a time of 21:42 also running a lifetime best! Baya will go on to compete in the NXR, NY Federation Championships this weekend in Wappingers Falls and move on to Nordic ski season once cross-country ends. Diya will continue winter training by competing in indoor track & field.
