To the editor:

Why does Monticello keep closing its eyes to the illegal cannabis store Broadway 420? The town ignores the illegal activity there. Even when the store had a huge marijuana leaf on the front window. 

Monticello is too small for the officials or police not to know what is going on there. Especially when the store is practically around the corner from the police station! Complaints were made and the only action was for the store to remove any cannabis display items from the windows. Finally the state officials shut the store down. Or so they thought they did. 

Now the store stays closed during the day but opens in the evening, even though there are several Illegal Cannabis Store notices on the windows. They don’t check ID’s and don’t sell NY lab tested products. Who knows what is in the items they sell.
