NEVERSINK — Neversink Parks and Rec. Director Tanya Huggler gave her monthly update on the progress of the Neversink Summer Camp at Wednesday night’s meeting.
She stated that Parks and Rec. are busy with the set up phase of their summer camp and are “for the most part ready to go.”
“We’ve had...registration. It’s only open to Town of Neversink residents and Tri-Valley students,” explained Huggler. “We’ve had quite a few registrations already.”
Huggler is also “super-excited” because they had received great applicants for counselors for the camp from Tri - Valley School as well.
These counselors are going to be able to use this opportunity for work-based learning hours through the Parks and Rec’s Career Readiness Program to get their Career Development and Occupational Studies Commencement Credential, something new that Tri-Valley School is implementing.
Huggler also submitted all of the Department of Health paperwork for the Camp earlier that day, as well as submitting a Sullivan 180 grant application as well.
“We are on our way!”, stated Huggler.
