SULLIVAN COUNTY – According to The New York State Athletic Administrators Association, the Hall of Fame Award recognition is the highest honor an interscholastic athletic administrator can receive from the NYSAAA. Coach Garry served as the Athletic Director for many years in the Monticello Central School, Chapter Representative for the NYSAAA Chapter 9 and served as the Indoor and Outdoor Track Chairman for Section IX, among many other accomplishments over his long and successful career. He [Garry] received the ZONE Honor Award in 1990 from the NYS Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and was previously recognized by the NYSAAA in 1998 with the Chapter 9 Athletic Administrator Award.
Last month in Saratoga, Garry was honored at the Roy O’Neill/David Martens Awards Banquet and Alan Mallanda, CMAA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony as one of the 2025 award recipients. The Hall of Fame Award is given to recipients for their contributions and accomplishments at the local, state, and national level.
“The NYSAAA is a tremendous organization which fosters the continued improvement of scholastic athletic programs. It provides athletic administrators with numerous networking opportunities to improve their programs. I am truly honored that I am in their elite ranks,” remarked Garry.
