GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — Local track and field standout Kane “The Prodigy” Poje locked in a historic week at the 2026 Junior Olympics in California, securing two silver medals. Poje dominated the field with a massive 213-foot throw in the hammer and a 61.8-foot mark in the shot put.

The performance cements his status as an eight-time All-American across the hammer, weight throw, and shot put, alongside his two New York State champion titles. Heading into his senior year, Poje ranks in the top three nationally in all three events, with his sights set on national and state titles before graduating in 2027.

This fall, Poje will take official recruitment visits to powerhouse, elite NCAA Division I colleges to continue his athletic and academic career. His ultimate goal is to represent the United States at the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane, Australia.

Reflecting on his success, Poje emphasized his gratitude for his hometown community. “Without the support of everyone in Sullivan County, especially Neversink and Grahamsville, none of this would be possible,” Poje said. He also extended special thanks to high school coach Tyler Eckhoff, club coach Kevin Sullivan, and his family for their unwavering guidance.
