Pekny Memorial Motor Show draws crowd

LIVINGSTON MANOR — Hundreds of people turned out at the Robin Hood Diner in Livingston Manor throughout Saturday for the first annual Chris Pekny Memorial Motor Show.

A serious car and motor enthusiast, Chris lost his life in an accident earlier this year, but his memory lives on. Saturday’s event celebrated his life as well as the hobbies he was so passionate about.

The day featured all kinds of vehicles including cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors and more.

Money raised will go to benefit Chris Pekny’s partner, Jen Edwards, and their newborn son, Christopher Ethan Pekny.

“People were very generous, the event was highly successful,” said older brother Pete Pekny.

Approximately 70 vehicles registered to show, but Pete said that the total number, including everyone who just happened to swing by, is closer to 100.

“I’m overwhelmed by the turnout and all the sponsorships,” said mother Jan Pekny. “It’s amazing.”

The motor show featured some of the vehicles that were near and dear to Chris, including his pickup truck and two Semi-trucks from Liberty Concrete and Construction where he worked.
