Pietro “Pete” Moglia of Monticello, NY, a long-time area resident, died Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. He was 81.

The son of the late Guido and Clorinda Dallara Moglia, he was born February 24, 1942, in Strela, Italy.

Pete epitomized the American dream. He immigrated from Italy in his early 20’s and built a successful life for himself and his family. He was a retired self-employed construction worker and ‘jack of all trades’. He loved playing golf and played in numerous golf leagues at Terry Brae and Loch Mor. He was an avid gardener and loved spending winters in Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Janet Moglia, at home; two daughters, Andrea Moglia and her husband Scott Garchik of Goshen, NY and Tracy Carnes and her husband Bruce of San Diego, CA; four beloved grandsons, Benjamin, Noah, Wilce, and Jake; his brother, Luigi Moglia, of Queens, NY and his sister, Iva Perciballi of France; four nephews, Mark, Phillippe, Laurent, and Vincent; his aunt, Guila Dallara and his brothers-in-law, David and Jay Rosenberg and sisters-in-law Ann Cole and Joan Cohen.

Graveside services and burial will be Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11 AM in the Temple Beth El Cemetery, Kauneonga Lake, NY.

Memorial contributions in Pete’s name may be made to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, 100 Woods Road, Valhalla, NY 10595 or to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
