Firefighters throughout Sullivan County are getting out and getting active despite the weather to kick off Sullivan 180’s 2024 Healthiest Fire Department Challenge.

Over the weekend, Smallwood-Mongaup Valley firefighters braved the cold weather to take the Polar Plunge in White Lake.

Rock Hill, Kauneonga Lake and Monticello are currently in the lead, but with 20 different departments around Sullivan County taking part in the challenge, there is plenty of time for other departments to get a top spot.
