LIBERTY - With the regular season coming to an end Liberty set out to host Chapel Field for their final home game on senior recognition night. With the sideline filled with loved ones the sun

shining over the hill and both teams taking the field the game was officially underway Monday night.

It started out as a defensive clinic on both sides of the ball showing the fans that they were in for a competitive game. The scoreless play was ended after the first goal was scored by Redhawks Brayan Hernandez to put Liberty ahead 1-0 going into the break.

As both clubs come back to the field all the momentum was in the Redhawks favor. The tables quickly turned  and Chapel Field would score two back-to-back goals by

Gio Rich and Davey Acuna to put them up 2-1 and put all the pressure on the Redhawks.

With time winding down as their loved ones looked on eagerly  the Redhawks were dialed in and closed out the game on a 3-0 run to end the game with a final score of 4-2. The 3 additional Liberty goals were scored by Jehu Abisair and James Dworetsky and a penalty kick from Jackson Bustillo. Drew Hallo of Chapel Field  had 2 saves.

Coach Simpson and Coach Hamlin both had nothing but great things to say about their players. “We’re excited for the post season and to see our guys compete. Today they showed resilience to continue to fight and that’s all we can ask for out there every night.”
