SULLIVAN COUNTY – Many local VFW members are busy replacing old flags with new flags for all Veterans in the local cemeteries in honor of Memorial Day, 2025.
The Curtis Eddy cemetery, located on Rt 97 in Cochecton, has some of the oldest veterans, dating from the Revolutionary War, according to Keith Krauss, who recently replaced flags.
Helping Krauss to replace flags was his grandsons, Kristopher and Alex Snedeker. Krauss is Quartermaster at the H. Russell Kenyon VFW Post #5808 located in Fosterdale.
This VFW Post alone places more than 600 flags in the local cemeteries located in Cochecton, Fosterdale, Cochecton Center, Hor-tonville, North Branch, Callicoon, Callicoon Center, Youngsville, Jeffersonville and Kenoza Lake.
If you would like to send a monetary donation for flags, make checks payable to H. Russell Kenyon VFW Post #5808 and mail to Keith Krauss, Quartermaster at 6152 SR 52, Cochecton, NY 12726.
