Rhinebeck ends Tri-Valley’s sectional hopes

TRI-VALLEY–– The Rhinebeck Hawks dominated the Tri-Valley Bears, ending the Bears’ season and sectional final hopes. This section semi-final game began as an exciting evenly matched showdown. Goalie Emily Lucak of TV put up great defense in the first half protecting the goal and fending off  several Rhinebeck score attempts. She would end the night with 10 saves. Despite lots of physical play on both ends of the field, at halftime the game was still tied at 0.         

After the break Rhinebeck would come back in with a vengeance and put the first goal on the board within five minutes.Then with 18:30 left in the half TV would charge down the field for an attempt to score but they would come up short. Rhinebeck would regain control of the ball and score again with just over 16:00 minutes to play bringing the game to 2-0 Rhinebeck Hawks.   

The Hawks continue their charge and would score 3 more goals in less than 10 minutes. The Bears were down 5-0 but that didn’t stop them from pushing forward. Junior Angelia Raykoff served her team well on defense and would also put the Bears on the board with less than 5 minutes remaining in the contest, scoring off an assist from Mya Ibarra. The game would end with the Hawks topping the Bears in this sections semi-final. 

Rhinebeck’s top performers of this matchup were Amanda O’Han with 2 goals and Amelia-Mae Curthoys, Lara Longman and Allison Stephan adding one goal apiece.
