Robert Michael Bogusz, a retired Construction Superintendent, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at home in Wolf Lake. He was 80.

The son of the late Michael Bogusz and Elaine Walker Bogusz, he was born June 6, 1942 in Suffern.

Bob served as a Veteran in the US Army Reserves. In his younger years he was a volunteer with the Pearl River Hook and Ladder Fire Dept. He was an avid sportsman. His lifelong passions were hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and camping. He was known for his excellent craftsmanship and carpentry skills. The past few years his winters were spent in Hudson, Florida enjoying golfing, gardening and games with friends.

He is survived by his wife of 59 and a half years: Ann Sylvia Hoag Bogusz, at home; two daughters: Lisa D’Alessandro and her husband Claude of Pine Bush, and Deborah DeRienzo and her husband Christopher of Wolf Lake; five grandchildren: Jonathan Porpora, Kristen Porpora, Whitney DeRienzo, Michael D’Alessandro and Justin D’Alessandro; four great-grandchildren: Sophia, Ephraim, Aubrey and Marleigh; a brother: Glenn Bogusz and his wife Claire of North Carolina; and several nieces and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, October 28 from 3:00 to 6:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with a prayer service starting at 5:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
