ROCKLAND — After tabling the vote last meeting, the Town of Rockland board unanimously voted to pass Local Law #3 of 2024, an extension of the building moratorium from earlier this year.
The board also amended the amount that they will be paying for new golf carts, with the adjustment being more than $1,000 cheaper.
Supervisor Eggleton also announced that the NY Forward Grant application was submitted, and the fund distribution will be announced in January.
Chargebacks for water, sewer and grass were also assessed at Thursday’s meeting.
The Rockland board also discussed a potential sale for a property on Creamery Road. The parcel is 0.4 acres and will be used for rural land use.
In their next meeting on November 7, the Town Board will have a tentative 2025 budget hearing at 7 p.m.
The potential for affordable housing down Rockland Road in Roscoe was also brought up, but there was no action taken during the meeting as it was just a preliminary discussion. During public comment the affordable housing was brought back up, and it was asked whether or not the project would require a public hearing, to which Supervisor Eggleton said that it might be part of the requirement for the development.
