Rockland waiting to extend town-wide moratorium

ROCKLAND — At their first meeting of October, the Town of Rockland board opened with a public hearing for Local Law #3 of 2024, in regards to an extension of the moratorium that was passed earlier this year. The board members in attendance voted to table the roll call vote until the next meeting.

The Willowemoc stream crossing project is complete and the dog park in Roscoe has since reopened. Another project, on the Mongaup Creek in DeBruce was completed as well.

The Board also discussed two proposals received for new golf carts for Twin Village. The two options will allow the town to replace carts that would need to be serviced before the start of the 2025 golf season.

The New York Forward Steering Committee will be hosting a Community Outreach Meeting on Monday, October 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The shortened meeting is leading up to the October 17 meeting, in which the actionable items will be voted on.
