If you want a sure way to lower your scores, practice with your wedges. Chipping, Pitching and Full wedges are used on almost every hole for your average golfer.
Full Wedge Swings: Most players nowadays have 3 to 4 wedges in their golf bag. In part 1 and 2 I discussed chipping and pitching. Now I’ll discuss the full swing with the wedges.
The next time you go to practice at the driving range take 10 swings with your pitching wedge. Let’s say it travels 110 yards on average. That’s what you must figure on when hitting a 110-yard shot. If the pin is in the front of the green, you might want to hit a 9 iron past the pin rather than being short of the green on a mis hit.
Nothing wrong with a 30-foot putt opposed to a shot coming up short and must now chip or pitch. Do the same calculations with your gap wedge, sand wedge and lob wedge. Play smart and save strokes.
