SCPBA Continues Community Service Through Scholarships

ROCK HILL – The Sullivan County Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, the Union representing the members of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Patrol Division, remains committed to community service and continues that legacy through the awarding of scholarships to Sullivan County Graduating seniors.

The Debra Hall Memorial Scholarship is granted to students pursuing a career in the field of veterinary science or an affiliated field of animal services and was established to honor the late Detective Corporal Debra Hall, who died of cancer in 2015. This year’s recipients of a $500 scholarship are:

Dakota Evans and Gracyn Halloran

The Robert Chemerys Memorial Scholarship is granted to students pursuing a career in the field of criminal justice or an affiliated police-related field and was established to honor Deputy Robert Chemerys, who died of cancer in 1982. This year’s recipients of a $500 scholarship are:

Taylor Crumley and Kelsey Ryder

Each beneficiary was issued the funding to offset their educational fees as they continue their studies. The SCPBA is an active community organization and offers this annual assistance program to support the mission of the PBA as a civic entity.
