GOSHEN – Tri-Valley track and field will have another busy state meet this year with seven kids qualifying for the prestigious meet in nine overall events. Kane Poje, the reigning Class C state shot put champion qualified to defend his title. He also qualified in the discus. Anna Furman defending class c 2000 m steeplechase champ will also try to defend her title. She also qualified for the 3000 meter. Sophia Richardson qualified for the 400 meter and just barely got beat out in the 200 meter by 1000th of a second. Sophia is trying to improve upon her runner up finish last year in the class c 400 meter run. Savannah Chaboty broke the school record in the triple jump with a jump of 33’3” to secure her spot at the state meet. Logan Weyant qualified in the 110 meter hurdles and is poised to make some noise at the state championships. Freshman phenom JoHanna Clarke qualified in discus, an event she recently broke the school record in. She is currently ranked top 10 in NY State. Another Freshman phenom Santino Haffner qualified in the pole vault with a jump of 12 ft. There’s a lot to be hopeful for leading into the state meet for the Bears. Go bring home some hardware!
