LIBERTY - New York State Police (NYSP) Captain Chris Zaba has served as Troop F Zone 1 Commander of SP Liberty for the past two years and last week announced his transfer to Troop C.

He also named the new Troop F Captain, Reva Navarro. She brings over 15 years of experience in law enforcement.

She served as a trooper in Wurtsboro, sergeant in Liberty, an investigator in the detective services unit, and a lieutenant in criminal investigation. She also graduated from the national FBI Academy.

Navarro said she lives in Orange County but is well versed in the goings on of Sullivan County.

“I look forward to working up here, and I should be up here for a few years so I look forward to working with everyone,” she said.

“She is going to continue the policies, the tone and the SP representation here in Sullivan County,” Zaba remarked.

These remarks came during the Public Safety Committee meeting of the county legislature on Thursday. Zaba did not say why he was being transferred.

“It's bittersweet for me; I love it here and I'm going to miss the people,” Zaba said. “I made some great friends.”
