MONTICELLO – The largest police union in New York State, outside of New York City, has endorsed Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff for re-election.
The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers, Inc., which represents over 6,000 current and former members of the state police, has endorsed the Sheriff for the sixth time since he retired as a trooper in 2005.
“I appreciate the vote of confidence”, said Schiff. “I have worked closely with the Union since my first term as Sheriff and intend to continue the collaboration going forward”.
In their letter of endorsement, the Troopers PBA stated that Mike Schiff, “continues to foster positive and cooperative working relationships between law enforcement agencies in the county. The PBA is confident that Michael Schiff will continue to guide the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in a direction that best provides law enforcement protection for residents”.
The State Troopers PBA represents uniformed state police members from the rank of Trooper through Major.
