Strengthening the role of women in law enforcement

SULLIVAN COUNTY – Six female Deputy Sheriffs from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division attended the annual New York Women in Law Enforcement Training Conference in Lake Placid last week. The agenda included several dynamic criminal justice speakers who are all experts in their fields. The topics included Community Trust Building, Trauma Informed Approach to Lockdown Drills, Extreme Risk Protection Orders, Trauma Informed Interviews, Social Media and Communications, Personal Finance, Leadership, Legal Updates, Warrior Versus Guardian Policing, “Be the Change”, and Resilience in Law Enforcement. The Sheriff’s Office continues to recruit and maintain the largest staff of female law enforcement officers in Sullivan County.
