MONTICELLO – Sullivan County Community Resources Commissioner Laura Quigley and Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Farney announced that the County has distributed more than 21,000 of the 34,500 KN95 masks it received from the State last week and will continue to do so this week.

“Our drive-thru days at the Transportation Building attracted hundreds of people, and we’ve been working with our local towns, libraries and housing complexes to keep sending out what we’ve got,” explained Quigley. “I welcome more complexes to give our Community Assistance Center a call (845-807-0925) if they would like masks for their residents.”

For the general public, the next drive-thru event was held on Wednesday, January 5 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Transportation Building. Any Sullivan County resident is welcome to come there to pick up masks for themselves and their families. The building is located near the County Airport at 401 County Route 183 (Airport Road), Swan Lake.

Residents should remain in their vehicles. Identification showing Sullivan County residency will be required, and drivers should be wearing a mask when conversing with staff and volunteers.

KN95 masks also continue to be available at the Government Center during normal business hours. Inquire at the Sheriff’s desk in the lobby.

By Wednesday, every local library should have masks available as well. Due to limited supplies, call your library first before traveling to pick up masks.
