T&C Salon finds new home in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL – The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and open house event for T&C Salon’s new location on Saturday, February 3.

The grand opening invited guests to tour the brand-new salon, located at 27 Sheeley Lane in Rock Hill, and meet with the staff members of the salon. The business was formerly on Broadway in Monticello.

Co-owners Christine and Theresa Nietzel realized that they needed more space to accommodate the other woman-owned businesses that do business at T&C Salon. These include Bliss Salon & Spa, which is owned and operated by cosmetologist and nail technician Jaimie Velazquez; Lotus Aesthetic Corporation, which is owned and operated by nurse practitioner injector Jessica Picard; TRL Society, which is owned and operated by cosmetologist Malvina Lumci; A & I Salon, which is owned and operated by cosmetologist Silvana Lumci; and their licensed massage therapist Diane Lorino.

Theresa Nietzel thanked her father, Earle Nietzel, for every day he has been supporting her and her sister.

“He’s the mastermind telling us what to do, when to do, and how to do it. Without him we couldn’t have done it,” Nietzel told the crowd.

“I also want to say thank you to Denis and Dolores Sheeley who, when we approached them about buying their property, with no hesitation wanted us to start a new career here in this building...today is about us beginning our journey with them [the women from different salons and spas] inside these walls that we put together with all of our family and friends.”

US Congressman Marc Molinaro’s (NY-19) Office representative Alex Horton was also present at the event to congratulate the staff. He bestowed a certificate from the Congressman himself, and by extension, the House of Representatives, congratulating the salon on their successful opening. Horton also noted that the certificate was also to thank them for investing in NY-19, keeping their business in the district.

“It’s not easy maintaining a business here in upstate New York,” Horton told the co-owners. “We’re happy to be your partner and [be able to] help you every step of the way.”

T&C is a full-service salon and spa with over eighteen years of experience. Nineteen years ago, the two women discussed opening their very first business together, which started out as a tanning salon. The following year, Christine would graduate from Cosmetology School which allowed the services offered by the Salon to expand. The two co-owners humbly acknowledge their father, Earl Nietzel, for his dedicated support and hard work. He oversaw the construction and development of all the locations the salon was located at.

The two noted that without their father, they “could not have created such an amazing place.”

The services offered by T&C Salon include hair, nails, waxing, massage, facials, make-up, eyelashes and aesthetic services. For the full list of prices, you can visit www.t&csalon.org.

With the move to a new location, hours will remain the same:

• Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Saturday -- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

•Sunday - closed

Theresa & Christine Nietzel thank the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce for putting this ribbon-cutting event together, and expressed gratitude to all of their family and friends who helped make the day possible. They emphasized that it is wonderful feeling to share the special event with so many amazing supporters.
