Terry A. Davis, Sr. of Youngsville, NY, a retired Correctional Officer at Woodbourne Correctional Facility, and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021. He was 62.

The son of Phyllis L. McArthur Davis and the late Albert W. Davis, he was born April 24, 1959 in Liberty, NY.

Terry had a passion for anything outdoors especially hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. Terry spent endless hours in the garage with his kids working on anything and everything with them, always lending a hand to anyone in need. He considered himself “A Jack of All Trades, Master of None”. Terry's true love consisted of anything to do with his family, his proudest achievements, family was everything to him, and he treated everyone like family.

Survivors include his wife Joan P. Houghtaling Davis, at home; two sons, Terry A. Davis, Jr. and his fiancée Desire Diehl of Jeffersonville, NY and Jamie P. Davis and his girlfriend, Jessica Smith and Alayah of Youngsville, NY; one brother, Dennis B. Davis and his wife Sue of Livingston Manor, NY; one sister, Sandra Davis of Parksville, NY; one grandson, Trent A. Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Albert W. Davis and one brother, Ricky W. Davis.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. The NYS Dept. of Corrections will hold an honor's service at 7PM with a brief prayer service to follow, at the funeral home. As requested by the family, we are asking all attendees to wear a face covering.
