For those of you who sew, and me, know our sewing machines are our partners and, in most circumstances, are very reliable and dependable.

Problems arise when something causes a glitch.

For me it was the thread breaking and my machine requiring re-threading. There I was unable to rethread that machine. The tiny hole was close to invisible and I was stuck.

Aha! I got out my magnifying glass. Thinking help was on the way I was happy. But trying to hold the thread in one hand while trying to direct the magnifying glass toward the problem became much more difficult.

In the past when fellow sewers were talking about a problem I didn't really try to understand. I didn't care about their glitches. Now I was in the same boat and was running low on patience.

My daughter, Anne Marie, was coming the next day with her weekly gift of delicious prepared foods.

I relaxed knowing Anne Marie would be able to rethread that machine.

The next day, when Anne Marie arrived, she was willing to help. After several tries she succeeded. I was happy until my bobbin thread ran out. Nuts!

Refilling the bobbin I placed it back in the machine backwards. It fell on the floor and I was willing to give up. Ree was still anxious to help but I really needed some ME time.

Ree and I visited until she had to leave and when I had rested for a minute I started over.

I took my time, refilling and replacing the bobbin. Working slowly I checked the entire threading line back to the spool. Everything was perfect. I sewed a sample block and called Ree to let her know my happy days were back again.

Stay safe, stay healthy and keep smiling.
