ROCKLAND — In their first meeting of March on the 6th, the Town of Rockland Board discussed and scheduled dates for both their municipal clean-up and grievance days. The municipal clean-up is set for May 10 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The grievance day is scheduled for the last Thursday in May, which falls on the 29th.

Along with the grievance day announcement, the board also motioned to advertise for a grievance board member ahead of the event. The board also voted to move the June 19 meeting to June 18 in lieu of Juneteenth.

The meeting began with a public hearing regarding a delinquent property on Old Route 17 in Livingston Manor, in which the board motioned to begin demolition proceedings.

During correspondence, Supervisor Eggleton read a letter regarding the second annual Care for Cemetery day, with a deadline of March 14 to apply. The date of the event is April 26.

The Trout Parade will return to Livingston Manor in June, and sent in a letter requesting a road closure and insurance for Renaissance park, which is where vendors set up during the day of the parade.

The Town is also moving forward with acquiring property for a well in Roscoe, and are still looking into upgrading meters and the Livingston Manor water tower.

An advertisement for a parks dept. employee will be submitted shortly, and the board is looking to fill the position ahead of this summer.

In new business, the Board motioned to adjust a typo in the budget for an employee that was being paid $26.03 instead of $26.30 per hour. They also motioned to change a private road name to Rock Cut Drive and approve repairs to the courthouse.

Finally, the board approved their NYMIR insurance for the year after a presentation of their rates and coverages in the previous meeting.
