Bethel  — New York State Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on State Route 17B near Happy Avenue in Bethel on Thursday, May 8 at approximately 5:45 a.m. 

State Police said Anthony Lee Tyson, age 64, of Waterbury, Connecticut, was driving a 2022 International Harvester tractor trailer westbound on 17B when it struck a pedestrian, identified as Brett Stevens, age 30, of Bethel. State Police said Stevens, who was walking within the lane, succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
