Tri-Valley Lions March Dinner Meeting

HURLEYVILLE – On Monday, March 3, the Tri-Valley Lions held their monthly dinner meeting at Casa Mia in Hurleyville. It was a very special dinner meeting as two community members were in attendance to receive certificates of appreciation for their support of our Tri-Valley Lions Club and club events. We are also so very pleased to announce our newest Tri-Valley Lion member, Tanya Huggler. Tanya is a teacher at the Tri-Valley School and handles Special Ed, and a new program of Career Development for her Students. In addition to teaching, Tanya is the new Parks and Recs Director for the Town of Neversink, with an office on the 2nd Floor of the Town Hall in Grahamsville. We are so excited about Tanya joining the Tri-Valley Lions.

Lion President Stephen Miller and Lion Vice President Hugh Delaney presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Joseph (Joe) Nebzydoski of the Youngville Animal Clinic. Dr. Joe participates in The Tri-Valley Rabies Clinics. He will again join us for our next rabies clinic in June of 2025, and we will certainly announce and post the date, time, and place in advance so as many of you can bring your cats and dogs to this clinic. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joe for his help in keeping our furry friends healthy and protected from rabies.

Next Lion President Stephen Miller and Lion Vice President Hugh Delaney presented a certificate of appreciation to Mark McLewin owner of The Neversink General Store. Mark and the Neversink General Store has generously supported the Tri-Valley Lions with foods and beverages for our annual Journey For Sight Walk and Tag Day events. This year’s Journey For Sight Walk and Tag Day will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Full details of this year’s Journey For Sight will be published and posted shortly. If you haven’t been to the Neversink General Store, it is amazing. Great sandwiches and beverages, the closest Gasoline station if you are in Grahamsville or Neversink. The store even has high quality clothing for sale, meats from Local farms, salads, great Pizza, especially the Breakfast Pizza. Gifts of honey, maple syrup, candles, and great pies.

In February, the Tri-Valley Lions donated $500 to the Trevor Loughlin Fund and $500 to the Sullivan County Heart-A-Thon. See photo of Lion President Stephen Miller at the Heart-A-Thon.

The Tri-Valley Lions, which was chartered in 1977, is now in our 48th year of existence, and we are always looking for new members. Just as a reminder, the Tri-Valley Lions bring in donations and funding by selling sodas from our Soda Booth for events at the Grahamsville Fairgrounds, selling Chocolate Easter Bunnies, our Annual Journey for Sight Walk and Tag Day. Our funding allows us to continue to provide monetary and service support to Local Food Pantries, Tri-Valley School Community Service and Achievement Awards, Children’s Eye Screenings, support for Diabetes, Lymphoma and Leukemia organizations, childhood cancer, WSUL Heart-A-Thon, Guiding Eyes for The Blind, and so much more. If you are interested in joining the Tri-Valley Lions or getting more information about our club, please contact Membership Chair, Pat Menje at 917-783-6253 or hvacpat69@gmail.com or President Stephen Miller at 845-798-1981 or sgrecords@hvc.rr.com.
