To the editor:

I have been motivated to write this letter by Trump’s victory in the caucus in Iowa. I had hoped that the people in Iowa would have sent Trump and all that he represents a definitive defeat. That was not to be. His victory has been portrayed as this wonderful thing. It was a victory, but when you consider that the votes he received represented a small percentage of the Republicans in Iowa. This is how the numbers work out.

* Number of Republican voters in Iowa 752,000

* Number of Republican voters in Iowa that voted 110,000

* Number of votes cast for Trump about 56,000

When you do the math 7.4 % of the Republican voters in Iowa supported Trump.

The sad fact is that even the Republicans in Iowa are not excited enough about Trump’s candidacy to go out and vote for him. Trump is taking advantage of the apathy of American Voters to sneak in to the Presidency.

Trump is a very serious threat to our democracy and only you and I can insure that we keep our democracy by voting.

Don’t let the Trump minority take over our country.
