On July 4, 2022, our loving mother, grandmother, friend and long standing member of the Monticello, NY community, Virginia “Ginny” Manzi peacefully passed on from this life to be with the Lord. Together she and her husband Ralph Manzi raised their family in Sullivan County. Her legacy continues through her children, Debra Stepnowski, Joe Manzi, Jeff Manzi and daughter-in-law Brenda Manzi, and Christine Pretzman and Son-in-law Jay Pretzman, as well as her grandchildren Brian and Melissa Stepnowski, Jonathan, Nicholas and Adrian Manzi, Alexander and Kyle Manzi and Maxwell and Nicholas Pretzman.
She was born on November 16, 1931 in Glenville, CT where she attended school and later became a successful regional sales director for Tupperware and also worked as a dental assistant. She met her beloved husband Ralph Manzi in 1967, and they started a life in Sullivan County where she and Ralph raised their family and established a successful business, Winwood Apartments, that provided first class housing to generations of families in Monticello. Everyone that passed through those doors knew that Ginny was on top of every detail to ensure it was running in tiptop shape. For 20+ years after Ralph’s passing she and her son Jeff were dedicated to managing the business until her retirement in 2016.
She enjoyed golfing, sewing, decorating, gardening and was an amazing cook. The Lord blessed her with the gift of hospitality. She was always entertaining or sharing a recipe, and she passed these skills on to her children and grandchildren. She made a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with and we know that she is serving up something wonderful in heaven. We love you and are so proud to tell your story.
The family will hold a private memorial service in North Carolina in the fall. In lieu of flowers we suggest making donations directly to: S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House, 1325 Mecklenburg Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28117. Family Address: Christine Pretzman, 361 Cove Creek Loop, Mooresville, NC 28117
